Is Firstbase Sales Tax only for SaaS companies?
Yes. Our product is designed specifically for SaaS, subscription, and other digital-only businesses. If you sell physical goods or run a mixed commerce model, we’re probably not the right fit—at least for now.
We’re pre-revenue or under $1 million ARR. Do we still need a sales tax product?
Maybe. If you’re below about $1 million in annual revenue it’s unlikely you already have a filing obligation, but state thresholds can be surprisingly low or transaction-count based. We continuously monitor every state in real time and let you know the moment you’re required to register and file—so you can act early if needed, and relax if you’re still in the clear.
Which integrations do you support?
Today we connect directly to Stripe. Support for other major payment providers is on the way, and if any of your transactions live elsewhere you can upload or push them via API or CSV—our system merges everything automatically.
What features are included?
We track your nexus exposure across all 50 states, alert you when thresholds are reached, and handle registrations and filings end-to-end. You can connect your Stripe account in a few clicks—we guide the setup—or upload data manually. Onboarding is fully white-glove and handled in-house, with a five-year lookback to identify any historical exposure. For remitting, we auto-debit tax via ACH, submit payments to each state, and keep your dashboard up to date. If you’re switching from another provider, we handle the full migration—including filings, credentials, and certificates—with minimal lift on your side.
How long does onboarding take?
Most companies are live within 5-7 business days. Complex migrations or large historical catch-ups can extend to roughly 14 business days, but we still do the heavy lifting.
Can I migrate from my current sales tax provider to Firstbase?
Yes — and it’s straightforward. We handle the heavy lifting for you. All we need is access to your state tax portals and five years of historical transaction data. From there, we rebuild your nexus profile, surface any past exposure, and seamlessly take over your ongoing filings and remittances. You’ll have a fully updated dashboard and zero disruption to your compliance.
